Series 2 of Torchwood was filmed from April to November 2007 for broadcast starting on 16 January 2008. It premiered in the US
on the BBC America channel on Saturday January 26, 2008. Due to audience demand, younger fans have the opportunity to watch an
edited pre-watershed repeat, aired the next day at an earlier time.
Recurring guest stars in the second series have included returning Doctor Who cast member Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones for three episodes
(from "Reset" to "A Day in the Death"), and American actor and Buffy star James Marsters as villain Captain John Hart in the series premiere
and its final two episodes. Episodic guest stars have included New Zealand-born US TV actor Alan Dale (Neighbours, The O.C., Lost,
Ugly Betty) as Aaron Copley ("Reset"), and British actors Richard Briers (The Good Life, Monarch of the Glen) as Parker
("A Day in the Death"), theatrical actress Nikki Amuka-Bird as Beth ("Sleeper"), Bryan Dick as Adam, Nerys Hughes (The Liver Birds)
as Brenda Williams ("Something Borrowed"), and Ruth Jones (Little Britain, Gavin and Stacey) as Nikki Bevan ("Adrift").
